because groin kicks can be overrated. 1. they have to actually land, which can be hard - especially against another trained fighter. 2. under high adrenaline situations, they are not always effective.

Wow, I thought there was no more brutal style than Muay Thai, but this certainly looks it. I wonder though, why allow a fighter to continue after being knocked out, if it's supposed to simulate a real battle situation? Also, the grappling looked very much like BJJ, I wonder if Phil has integrated that or whether it was actually a Burmese grappling system?

Oh, and his philosophy of doing maximum damage in a self-defence situation is pragmatic and noble in a way, but not very court-friendly. I would personally rather choke someone out than rain punches down on them and maybe brain-damage or kill them.
