They are under the screen in the back and they are literally not visible at all. So yes they are tiny in that respect. As for sound, they are pretty tiny as well. If your in your room or in a fairly quiet place, they are plenty loud enough, but in a busy place you won't be able to hear them very well. People have been asking for the math. So here it is. The Sun's core temp is ~13.6 MK. For hydrogen nuclei the Coulomb barrier is roughly 0.1 MeV. This corresponds to a temperature in excess of 1 GK! Luckily, tunneling and the distribution of speeds among nuclei lower the actual temperature required. So without tunneling even the Sun's core isn't hot enough for fusion. There is a publication somewhere where light can go through a silver sheet (I tend to call that a mirror!) by "impedence matching".
