Description: Probably filmed around 2000. Mr.Rankin had been one of the session players on Bob Dylan's 'Blonde On Blonde'. In 1968 he recorded his first solo album and since then this great singer, songwriter and guitarist manages to combine folk, jazz and classical influences in his music. On this video he plays an up-tempo jazz-waltz written by himself that was first heard on his album 'Silver Morning' in 1974. The solo is played by Joe Beck (he was the guitarist on Esther Phillips' album 'What A Diff'rence A Day Makes'). |
