wilberman ::: Favorites I heard about this video for years, and here it is! Thanks for sharing this with us. Greatly appreciated. Check out the Nationwide and Desert Island Disc clips on my page for further 1982 era Macca. 07-10-06 06:49:53 __________________________________________________
Marcus1743 ::: Favorites I don't know about this video. Sure, I'm all about the message that even people in prison can enjoy great 80s pop music. What I don't get... Paul McCartney (apparently Ivory) sings as a guy (apparently Ebony) is held-down, impoverished, and imprisoned. Is it because he is EBONY that he is in prison. Because, had Ivory not been singing solo in this song - Ivory would have been white colored walking to work or something. Let's be more politically correct than this. 07-08-29 17:34:28 __________________________________________________
FabFM ::: Favorites i'm actually and mixture of both "ebony and ivory" and what you are saying is all conjectural. If Stevie Wonder had done a solo song about the topic, the video could have just as easily been Stevie singing the song to a bunch of white skinheads, not businessmen on the way to the office. Yet, no one would accuse him of being politically incorrect. 07-10-18 14:51:49 __________________________________________________
Marcus1743 ::: Favorites As am I, FabFM, but what part of my statement is conjectural. It's satirical to say the least. What if Stevie would have made a video of that nature? I would suggest that it would be under more scrutiny than this obvious yet subtle cultural undertones. 07-10-18 16:02:17 __________________________________________________
FabFM ::: Favorites The part where you said "had Ivory not been singing solo in this song - Ivory would have been white colored walking to work or something" is conjectual. That is only one possibility, proven by the contrasting example I made. Had Stevie have made a video of that nature, no one would give a toss, except maybe neo-nazis... 07-10-18 16:21:44 __________________________________________________
