Unfortunately Fuji Speedway has been significantly pussified for this years race. What was once a very long, fast sweeping right hand final corner is now a series of six or seven fairly tight corners. Should have stuck with Suzuka, oh well. RIP James Hunt, his commentary was always great.

Typical James :-] Another badge on his overalls was "Sex is a high performance thing". BTW his son, Freddie, who resembles James remarkably, is becoming a racing driver too. Seeing his son on the grid one day would just be so nostalgic.

The Mount Fuji circuit was planned as a oval with a road circuit in the infield. Only the road circuit was built but used both sets of banking. Eventually the first of these was cut off & a near hairpin added. Since the 2 times it was used as a GP venue the track had been reworked once or twice, so when it's next used for a GP it will be very different.
