brickbat44 I should point out that I do have a playlist called *The Zombies*. I do like them. It's just that my playlist for the Beatles has ten times as many songs. *She's not there* is one of my all time favorites. Peace, Gerry

I don't understand the last question at all. Of course we did covers - that's what our audience wanted. We did things like high school dances and college mixers. None of us would have had the slightest idea how to write and orchestrate a new song. The only thing that I have said is that the Zombies were not in a league with the Beatles! I'll stand by that. As to music of the last 25 years, I think that, given my tastes, it's all crap.

so you mean cover versions and you had nothing original for yourselves! that song was the original one hit wonder of the sixties when you look at the bullshit today that is mozart with the doors? by the way were they before or after?

brickbat44, I was playing in a rock band in the 60s. We had to categorize the songs that we could play and make sure to play something at concerts from each group. I guess that categorization has hung on in my head. While I have quite a few CDs of 60s music, I went through a change and got into classical music.

It was quite common in the early sixties, and among others, The Beatles did it on occasion. Search for The Beatles Twist and Shout London Palladium. I think that should get you a performance for the Queen of England.
