Description: Today in the news one may read about the Answers in Genesis cult opening a new church in Kentucky. This church cost at least twenty-seven million USA dollars to build, and it has been built specifically to indoctrinate children into the belief that Earth is only a few thousand years old and that humans co-existed with dinosaurs. The cult's founder, Ken Ham, lamented to an Associated Press reporter the fact that the vast majority of school text books, and also natural science museums, teach science and not occult superstition. He suggested that critics of superstition come to his church, paying twenty dollars per adult and teen, and ten dollars for each child, before continuing their criticism. Criticism must continue, of course, because Creationism is always the same and always wrong. This cult is dedicated toward the destruction of science education in the United States, and they strive towards that end by causing confusion among the gullible regarding what is valid science and what is pure bullshit. Nobody would care if this new church merely presented its lies, falsehoods, and insanity under the banner of religion: the problem is that the cult claims the new church's message is based upon science and reason and the study of the natural world. Of course it is not, and that is why the cult is being criticized. Imagine paying twenty dollars for the dubious privilege of being lied to and insulted beyond what any sane human being will tolerate. It boggles the mind. |
